According to the latest survey from Dice.com, salaries just keep dropping. But that doesn't mean that employers can't incentivize their geeks to work hard. Dice recently polled workers about what employers can offer beyond salary to keep them happy.

57% of recruiters and hiring managers said salaries for new employees are falling this year.

35% said that salaries for new employees will remain flat through the end of the year.

35% of IT workers said that job security was the best thing companies can offer when salary increases aren't an option.

32% of IT workers said training and certification classes add value to a job.

31% of IT workers named flexible work hours as the top incentive beyond salary.

Coming in at dead last, only 2% of IT workers said that C-level recognition for job performance adds an appreciable amount of value to a job when salary bumps aren't on the table.

Dice reports the number of total available tech jobs on its site went down 15.2% between Feb. 2 and Aug. 3.

Over the month of July, the total number of jobs was relatively flat. The decrease was less than 1%, or approximately 418 jobs.
