Georgia's First Digital Hospital Opens

DeKalb Medical Center at Hillandale, Georgia, part of a 40-acre medical campus, is not just the state's newest hospital, i's the first to be built to facilitate health information technology.

DeKalb Medical Center at Hillandale, Georgia, part of a 40-acre medical campus, is not just the state's newest hospital: the $65 million facility is the first to be built to accomodate health information technology. There are Internet portals in each patient room. Patient information will be input directly onto computers. Even the X-rays will have digital, rather than film, images. More than $20 million will be spent on health IT and wireless infrastructure for the Center's three hospitals.
