Leave it to the politicians to show that they could figure out a way to take the consumer social network phenomenon and translate that to a new industry: In this case the industry was getting political contributions, getting out the vote and getting elected.

What? The Internet has been around a long time but it remains the biggest technology force around. In 2008, we saw more media including television, phones, movies and video rushing to become available via the net.
