Over the past week, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab to rave reviews from critics. Windows Phone 7 also came on the market, even as a study indicates iPhone and BlackBerry devices have the lowest failure rates. See what other topics were hot this week.

AVG has acquired mobile-security firm DroidSecurity in an attempt to bolster its Android-based security efforts. The company is joining the burgeoning mobile-security space, which has become a hot-button issue for companies as of late.

AVG's acquisition is one you should keep a close eye on. Mobile security is becoming a greater issue for enterprises than ever before. Android doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to security, and smartphones based on the OS are proliferating among consumers. If you have smartphones like the Motorola Droid 2 or the Motorola Droid X running in your business, consider deploying DroidSecurity.
