In early May, we again asked CIOs to indicate, on a scale of 1 to 10, how confident they are that economic conditions will improve significantly in the next 90 days for their companies, their industries and the economy. CIOs remain more optimistic about the short-term prospects for their companies than for the economy as a whole. But compared with last month, confidence in their own companies was flat, at 6.2, while their outlook on the economy jumped significantly from 4.5 to 5.0.
