Apple's MacBook Pro has been around for years now, but in the enterprise, it's hardly anywhere to be found. In many cases, CIOs decide that the computers, as nice as they might be for consumers, just won't cut it for corporate users. Instead, today's IT decision-makers determine that the best laptops are running Windows and come from companies such as HP, Lenovo, or Dell. As feature-packed as those PCs might be, the MacBook Pro is becoming an increasingly attractive laptop choice for enterprise users. From its sleek finish and its relatively secure operating system to its consumer appeal, the device seems ideally suited for today's forward-thinking IT ecosystem. Here are 10 reasons why it's time to bring the MacBook Pro to the corporate world – some of which will surprise you and your IT staff.

Some analysts have recently predicted that sales of Apple's iPad and assorted other tablets -- such as the Amazon Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and the Acer Iconia Tab -- will eventually outpace that of laptops. This has led some analysts to ponder whether the tablet form factor could, eventually, completely replace the laptop for work. However, a study from research firm ABI Research tells a much different story. Although iPads and other tablets remain very popular in today's mobile marketplace, they're not yet ready to assume the role of a laptop replacement. In fact, use of laptops around the world is on the rise, according to ABI. The report is the result of the company’s ongoing Technology Barometer surveys, which polls 8,000 consumers in seven countries every six months. Results of the most recent survey were released May 1, 2012.

Yet, there's a good chance that Apple’s OS X Mountain Lion will come with enough improvements to make current Mac OS X users want to upgrade to the new offering.
