It's a good idea for every CIO to look beyond technology and spend some time examining the business factors that are driving you organizations. After all, a key component in your job is working closely with the business side and understanding what is behind the decision-making processes at your enterprise. As part of this, it's also wise to keep an eye on company-wide hiring (or downsizing). A recent survey from CareerBuilder sheds light on the changes that companies have planned for their overall workforces in the coming months. The information will provide you with clear insight into whether the business side plans to add more employees to the company, and also tells you where most of jobs will be coming in. Here are 10 highlights on the state of hiring in today's up-and-down economy. The nationwide survey was conducted for CareerBuilder by Harris Interactive from May 14-June 14, 2012. More than 2,000 hiring managers and human resources professionals in the public and private sectors participated in the survey, which asked about hiring plans from July 1-December 31, 2012.
