Perhaps you've suspected at times that you've asked too much from your IT employees. If so, than this chuckle-worthy list of bizarre requests from bosses should put your mind at ease. After all, it's highly doubtful (we hope) that any of our CIO readers have asked their staffers to go out and buy them weapons, or lend them money. The list was compiled by CareerBuilder, which also asked workers how they'd rate their superiors, and found that 66 percent would give no less than a "B" grade. (And one-quarter would give an "A.") Another encouraging finding: Sixty-four percent say they respect their boss. However, only 37 percent say they learn from their supervisors. "The majority of workers have a good relationship with their bosses, where they feel supported and valued," says Rosemary Haefner, vice president of human resources at CareerBuilder. This means, as a CIO, it's important to make sure your staffers feel that your assignments to them are generally considered work-related and position-appropriate. Not to mention relatively rational. Nearly 3,700 employees participated in the research.
