Who's on board with the cloud? Contrary to the impression that the cloud is the stuff of tech geeks, it appears that senior-level execs—the C-Suiters, VPs, and CIO and IT director-level decision-makers—are more likely to push forward with cloud initiatives than IT managers, according to a recent survey from Evolve IP. Either way, it looks like expansions for cloud budgets are in the works for now and the indefinite future, findings show, as the clear advantages are outweighing concerns raised by those IT managers. "Most businesses already have at least one hosted service running," says Guy Fardone, general manager and chief operating officer of Evolve IP. "But, in some organizations, not everyone is in complete alignment regarding putting multiple services in the cloud. Executives want the cost and disaster-avoidance benefits, while security, privacy and compliance are typical initial concerns brought up by the managers responsible for implementation." More than 1,180 IT and cloud decision-makers took part in the research. For more about the survey, click here

Moving Forward 75% of survey respondents plan to add new or additional cloud services in the next three years.
