Nearly three quarters of respondents companies have "fully outsourced" their IT efforts.
About one in five respondents say that they have "partially outsourced" IT activities.
A mere 5% of respondents say they have not outsourced any of their IT efforts.
Companies are most likely to fully outsource end-user support.
Whats not outsourced?
"Application development and/or maintenance" was least likely to be fully outsourced.
Companies that have "a centralized organization model" are most likely to fully outsource their IT activities, researchers said.
"Federated" organizations are most likely to outsource some - but not all - of their IT services.
Outsourcing + Cloud
Respondents that currently outsource are most likely to have no plans to use cloud computing in their organization; 55% of respondents say they won't use cloud computing for mission-critical services.
Only 18% of respondents that currently outsource plan to use cloud computing in mission-critical services.
