Mobile & Wireless Slideshow: 10 Products Apple Should Launch In the Next Year
By Don Reisinger | Posted 05-25-2012iPhone 5
Apple's iPhone 5 has officially become one of the most sought-after smartphones. And, it's not even available yet. Apple should launch the device - with its rumored 4-inch screen, iOS 6, and 4G LTE support - as soon as possible to meet the demand of eager customers.

iPad Mini
Apple is reportedly planning to launch the iPad Mini in the next 12 months. Details are slim, of course, but the device could ship with a screen size of 7 or 8 inches and offer a cheaper price tag than its larger counterpart. Sounds like a winner.

A Really New iPad
When Apple showed off its new iPad earlier this year, the tablet came with only a few notable improvements over its predecessor. It's time for Apple to launch the major update customers have been waiting for.

Whither MacBooks?
Apple is reportedly planning to launch updates to its entire MacBook line. The devices are expected to come with more touch features, enhanced components, and nice design improvements.

Apple Television
Ever since Apple co-founder Steve Jobs said last year that he had "cracked" the code for an Apple television, rumors surrounding such a device have skyrocketed. However, there is some doubt over when the television might launch -- later this year, next year, or 2014. If Apple is smart (and it is), the company will launch the television this year.

Waiting On iOS 6
Each year, Apple launches a new version of iOS that comes with a host of improvements. In the past, the updates have delivered multitasking, improved Mail functions, and more. There's no telling what will arrive in iOS 6, but you can bet it'll launch sometime this year.

The Last iPod
Apple's grand success across the mobile market has left the company with the enviable ability to basically hide the fact that its iPod line starting to tail off. We think Apple should deliver a final iPod model, with much fanfare.

Another Mac Pro
Apple's Mac Pro tends to get ignored among the many other, popular Apple computers on store shelves today. But that doesn't mean that it should be ignored. Quite the contrary, Apple should deliver all new components in its Mac Pro and ensure that it stays near the top of the desktop space.

Apple TV Set-Top Box
Until Apple launches its television, maybe it would be a good idea for the company to ditch its current set-top box, the Apple TV, and replace it with something more capable. The Apple TV only allows for streaming and lacks storage. It's about time Apple offers up a true, desirable set-top box.

Apple Wallet?
Google Wallet is a mobile-payment solution that lets users pay for products from Android smartphones. So far, its competition is somewhat weak. But what if Apple responds with an alternative of its own? After all, Apple already has credit card information on file with iTunes, and its products are ubiquitous.
