Want to find out what the most "frustrating" issue is that Web users confronted while on a smartphone or tablet? Painfully slow Web page loading time, according to a survey of over 5,000 adults by Keynote Competitive Research.

Nearly half of respondents said that sites that were not optimized for use on smartphones frustrated them.

When going to your company's site from a tablet, respondents expect to wait no more than three seconds for the page to load, according to Keynote.

Although smartphone load times are slower, be sure that your site can be accessed from a handset within four seconds - it's what 64 percent of consumers expect, according to Keynote's data.

To make matters worse, 16 percent of respondents said that they wouldn't go back to Web sites from a mobile device if they have been found to load too slowly.

A surprising 6 percent of respondents say that they will go to a competitor's Web site after finding a company's mobile page loading too slowly.

If you want to know how to build your mobile page, consider making maps and event information prominent - 88 percent of smartphone owners are surfing to sites looking for that information.

Having other local services, like finding where your office is, is important to 74 percent of respondents, according to Keynote's data.

On tablets, accessing location information was a popular activity for three-quarters of Keynote's respondents, according to the company.

However, 77 percent of tablet users report to using their tablet to search for information and 76 percent prefer to watch videos from their slates.
