The so-called Bush-era tax cuts, which are set to expire next year, are integral to technology investment, the respondents said. According to DLA Piper, 60 percent of IT leaders say that if the cuts are allowed to expire, investment in the technology sector will decline.

That said, 33 percent of respondents said that the expiration of the tax cuts will have no material impact on the growth of the technology sector.

Looking at the economy as a whole, 72 percent of technology leaders say that they expect their companies’ sales to increase over the next year.

In addition, 50 percent of respondents said that they plan “moderate hiring increases” over the next year.
