CIO Insight's survey on the development and communication of IT and corporate strategy reveals that execs doubt their message is reaching employees.

Leadership Gap

Our research on the development and communication of IT and corporate strategy showed that many business and IT executives feel they do a relatively poor job communicating that strategy to employees. Sadly, there's a similar trend when it comes to managing the link between overall strategy—and IT strategy—and the needs of employees as they go about their jobs. Companies as a whole make some effort to measure performance against strategic goals, as do their IT departments, but our respondents don't seem to think much of the alignment results.
