After a comprehensive interview of 40 different federal CIOs from across numerous agencies, TechAmerica recently compiled its 20th annual report detailing the challenges and priorities among those in charge of our federal IT infrastructure. The following seven priorities take precedence in the CIOs' minds as the biggest issues in the long term. They're ranked in order of priority, along with a summary of survey respondents' and TechAmerica's thoughts on each.

Cybersecurity With a surge in malicious attacks on the government and cyberwarfare heating up, there's no wonder this is a top concern. Several key initiatives include FISMA reform and identity management improvements.
