With the second decade of the 21st Century well underway, we thought it was a perfect time to pause and consider the remarkable products and technological innovations we've seen so far. The "app store" concept was quickly mimicked by a number of other players, including BlackBerry, Google, Microsoft and Amazon. Apple reported in December 2011 that customers have downloaded 18 billion apps from its app store since it launched in 2007.
