Good Technology, a provider of enterprise mobility management tools designed to enable bring-your-own-device (BYOD), reports that iPhone activations were at an all time high in Q1 2012 among its enterprise customers. Good Technology's customers include eight of the top 10 financial institutions, seven of the top 10 healthcare organizations, half of the Fortune 100, and companies from every major industry. The Good Technology Device Activation Report is based on the activations by the company's enterprise customers of Apple, Android and Windows smartphones and tablets - but not RIM's BlackBerry devices, which the company's solutions do not service. The results reveal increasing enterprise willingness to implement iPhone, while the comparatively lower rates of Android activations could indicate some hesitancy on the part of enterprises to permit those devices to be used. In fact, the handful of Good Technology customers that do permit the use of Android devices in the enterprise report that the Google mobile OS accounts for 28 percent of the mobile devices they activated in Q1 2012.
