CIOs and other senior tech managers confess that too many IT workers' resumes contain both exaggerations and flat-out fibs, according to a recent survey from TEKsystems. And tech workers are inclined to agree with that assessment. The overall findings cover a wide range of industry hiring topics, including how increasingly complex the entire hiring process is getting. Employees, for example, are turning to professional recruitment services to find the "just right" job, as the majority are skeptical that they'll get an accurate depiction about a position during the screening process. "Hiring the wrong individual is a costly mistake that can cause a company thousands of dollars and force them to start the hiring process from scratch," says Rachel Russell, director of TEKsystems, an IT staffing solutions, talent management and tech services company. "Working with a recruiter to source and pre-screen prospective employees allows the organization to focus on what matters most: the in-person interviews to confirm the match is right for the employer and the employee." The research involved two separate surveys involving more than 2,000 IT professionals and 1,500 IT leaders. For more about both studies, click here and here.
Vetting Stages 95% of IT leaders feel that, the more thorough the screening process, the better the chance of getting a quality match for a hire.
