IT Staffing Is on the Rise for 2015
19% of the CIOs surveyed plan to increase IT department staffing for the first half of 2015, up from 14% who planned to increase staffing six months ago. Just 3% intend to reduce staffing.
68% plan to fill vacant IT roles, which is down from 76% six months ago.
89% of the CIOs are “somewhat” or “very” confident about their company’s growth prospects for the first half of 2015, about the same as six months ago.
24% expect that their IT budgets will increase in 2015. (This is the first time CIOs were asked about IT budgets for this survey, so there is no comparison data.)
Nearly three-quarters of those forecasting IT budget increases expect that it will increase by up to 20%, and about one in ten said the increase will fall between 21% and 30%.
67% of the respondents said it’s “somewhat” or “very” challenging to find skilled IT professionals, up from 61% six months ago.
