What Next-Generation Workers Want at Work
Collaborative work environments, social media tools and in-person meetings are what motivates the majority of surveyed Millennial and Generation Z workers.
77% of survey respondents said they are either “very” or “extremely” well prepared to work effectively within a team at work.
81% aspire to be a future leader, and 80% are either “very” or “extremely” willing to become mentors.

39% of survey respondents said that the most effective way to communicate with a coworker is in person, as opposed to email (16%), phone (11%) or IM (10%)
22% said they measure success by their job titles and promotions, but 21% do so through the perceived respect they get from colleagues.
78% said their expectations of their current workplace are being met, and 74% said they’d be “very” or “extremely” likely to recommend their current company to a friend.
56% said the kind of people they work with plays a major factor in enabling them to do their best work, while 52% cite the type of work they do.
38% said having the ability to focus and collaborate plays a major factor in enabling them to do their best work, and 31% said their particular type of workspace does.
31% said coworkers who are “willing to work as hard” as they do help them do their best work, while 21% cite coworkers who like to collaborate.
42% said they prefer to work in a corporate office, and 21% said they most like to work in a “co-working space” (a shared environment). Only one-fifth said they’d prefer to work from home.
