What CIOs Need to Run a Hybrid IT Environment
Cloud adoption is everywhere, but it’s not suitable for all workloads, so CIOs and IT pros must determine what stays in-house and what lives in the cloud.
92% of survey respondents said the adoption of cloud tech is important to their organization’s long-term business success, with 27% indicating this is “extremely” important.
Just 43% estimate that at least half of their organization’s total IT infrastructure will be in the cloud within the next three to five years, despite their prioritization of the cloud as a business driver.
60% said it is unlikely that all of their company’s infrastructure will ever migrate to the cloud.
Only 27% are certain that their tech department currently has adequate resources to manage a hybrid IT environment.
83% said it is important to work with business executive leaders when developing and executing a cloud strategy, and 48% said this is “extremely” important.
56% said they have the level of support needed from their leadership/organization to develop/improve the skills required to better manage hybrid IT.
48% said they need employees skilled at hybrid tech monitoring/management tools and metrics to better oversee hybrid IT environments, and 41% cited the need for app migration specialists.
32% said they require job candidates who are skilled at working with distributed architectures to better manage hybrid IT, and 31% said they require employees with a proven track record in service-oriented architectures.
