In Context: Responding to the question—How big is the asshole problem in technology organizations?—Sutton noted a recent meeting he had with 20 CIOs, in which the IT leaders confessed there might have been times they could have gotten away with being an asshole. Not anymore. Such an attitude drives people out, plus managers don’t get the most out of their employees. Employees from Generation X and Generation Y just won’t put up with that attitude.
