Mobile Strategists Seek Greater Input From CIOs
75% of organizations surveyed have created the new role of mobile strategist to define, manage and deploy a consistent, enterprisewide mobile strategy.
Only 22% of mobile strategists surveyed feel their organization is ahead of the curve on leveraging mobile, as 58% said their company is “on par” when compared to others.
53% of mobile strategists report to the CTO, while only 27% report to the CIO.
24% of mobile strategists said their CIO does not consider mobile as a priority, and another 18% said their CIO “does not understand what it takes” to successfully implement mobile initiatives.
Only 47% of mobile strategists feel they work closely with their CIO–in contrast to 81% of CIOs who said they work closely with their leader of mobile strategy.
Seven out of 10 survey respondents said product lines/functions (such as marketing, sales and HR) lead mobile app deployment, as opposed to having their organizations take a centralized, enterprise IT approach.
