The journal of the American Hospital Association, Hospitals & Health Networks, recently released their annual study of technology adoption among provider organizations.
The results are based on responses from more than 1,200 hospitals in the United States. The study found that strong integration of IT improved patient outcomes.
On average, Wired hospitals have risk-adjusted mortality rates that are 7.2 percent lower than other hospitals, even after controlling for the size of the hospital and teaching status.
