Many companies view big data as a strategic—even game-changing—technology development, and they’re looking for new ways to maximize the value of those efforts.
66% of the global big data professionals surveyed view big data as strategic and/or game-changing, while just 19% consider it experimental.
97% said their organization plans to do as much—or more—with big data over the next three months.
57% of the respondents said the IT department is the primary driver for their big data projects, while 33% said business is the driver.

63% of organizations that deploy all their data in the cloud are receiving tangible value out of data efforts, but only 47% of businesses that don’t deploy data in the cloud get tangible value.

57% of the respondents at organizations with self-service capabilities said they are achieving tangible value from big data, compared to 43% of those at businesses without self-service capabilities.
