The 11 Top Threats That Organizations Face Today
IT and business leaders have plenty to worry about in this new digital age. Changing federal, state or local compliance mandates are handed down every week. A company's reputation can suffer with one click of an unsatisfied customer's post on social media. And then there are all the problems that tie directly to IT, such as network breaches, productivity logjams and data loss. To pinpoint the top threats for organizations, KPMG International has released a survey that involved the participation of more than 1,000 global C-suite executives. The resulting report, Expectations of Risk Management Outpacing Capabilities: It's Time for Action, also reveals what businesses are doing—or not doing—to effectively measure the ROI of their risk-management programs. "We found that risk management is not advancing fast enough at most companies in the face of an array of threats in an increasingly complex global economy," says Mike Nolan, KPMG International's global leader for risk consulting. "But companies can transform these challenges into a competitive advantage. All of their competitors are in the same boat, but very few are going to take advantage of the regulatory onslaught to become more competitive."
