CIO Insight senior writer Ed Cone talks to VF Corp. CIO Martin Schneider about creating the top IT job from scratch at a big company. Schneider joined the $8 billion apparel company in 2006, becoming its first corporate CIO. The new job meant he had to take a fresh look at every phase of the global IT operation, from applications to branding to people. Schneider discusses some of the challenges and decisions that came out of that process.
