CIO Insight editors designed the 2007 Web Services, SOA and SaaS Survey together with members of the Ziff Davis Media research staff. IT executives from Ziff Davis Media publication lists were invited to participate in the study by e-mail. The questions were posted on a password-protected Web site, and 164 qualified respondents (56 from companies with revenues in calendar 2006 between $5 million and $100 million; 59 from companies with revenues between $100 million and $999 million, and 49 from companies with revenues of $1 billion or more) replied from May 10, 2007, to May 27, 2007. Of the respondents, 60 percent were the top IT executives of their companies and the rest held other IT executive positions.
