CIO Insight Weekly Report, May 7, 2008

By CIOinsight  |  Posted 05-07-2008

In this CIO Insight Weekly Report, the Labor Department reports that IT services firms in April added more than 10,000 jobs. That's more new workers than in any month since May 2006. Payroll increases suggest IT is fairing better than many other sectors of the job market. In addition, we will look at a look at new research that uncovers an overlooked role for today's CIOs: Revenue generator. Few CIOs count innovation or uncovering new business opportunities among their roles, resulting in lost opportunities for these IT leaders to be mover and shakers, and perhaps, earn more money. Also this week, CIO Insight editor Eric Chabrow accompanies a delegation of American CIOs visiting Technion Israel's equivalent of MIT.
