CIOs Expect to Boost Staffing for the Rest of 2015

22% of surveyed CIOs plan to add more staffing to their IT departments for the second half of 2015, up from 14% a year ago.
67% of those surveyed plan to hire only for vacant IT roles, which is down from 76% a year ago.
Just 9% have put IT hiring plans on hold, and only 2% plan to reduce tech department staffing.
59% said it’s either “somewhat” or “very” challenging to find available, skilled IT pros today.

69% of CIOs said they are taking steps to address recruiting challenges, with 48% increasing their networking activities and 37% hiring recruitment or staffing firms.
36% are offering referral bonuses to boost hiring efforts, and 36% are bringing on consultants to augment current staffing.
