Why IT Leaders Love the Public Cloud

Remember when organizations once feared the public cloud? If only because they were concerned about data security? Well, no longer, as the vast majority of companies have migrated to the public cloud and expect to boost their presence there in the immediate future, according to a recent survey from SADA Systems. As a result, they're increasing their flexibility with respect to infrastructure needs, while saving considerably on equipment, facilities and staffing costs. And when it comes to security, most IT decision-makers now feel that data security in the public cloud is actually better than that within their own data centers. "All signs point to public cloud adoption growing and enterprise IT becoming more comfortable with the prospect of running their most sensitive data on public cloud infrastructure," says Tony Safoian, president and CEO at SADA Systems. "Security and reliability will always be primary concerns—as they should—and companies should lean on expert consultants and integrators to guide them in addressing these issues. The convenience of public cloud, coupled with easy access to proven resources for managing these environments, make the option of moving to public cloud too compelling to ignore." A total of 210 IT decision-makers and influencers took part in the research.
