Reports on the death of email may be greatly exaggerated, but many industry leaders are questioning if a shift from traditional on-premise systems to cloud Unified Communications as a service (UCaaS) may be a harbinger of things to come for email. UCaaS is a means to collaboration and productivity and provide ways for people to keep in touch regardless of their location or communications device. The cloud helps make delivery more efficient. "Enterprise UCaaS is proving disruptive due to its superior value proposition--reduced complexity, lower total cost of ownership and greater productivity and mobility for the increasingly Millennial and distributed workforce," says Taher Behbehani, CMO of BroadSoft, the cloud software and services provider that conducted the study. Conducted in late October 2015 at the company's annual users conference, the survey polled 146 respondents, including C-level executives, directors, vice presidents, managers, department heads, and engineers. Seventy-four percent of the respondents were from service providers, 26% from enterprises, resellers and technology vendors. 59% of respondents were from North America, 25% from EMEA, 9% from APAC and 7% from CALA. Here are key findings.
